As the weather starts changing, so does your skin. Your skin can start to look dry and unattractive during the harsh, cold, windy winter months. The most common skin imperfections that occur during the winter months are dry, cracked and uneven skin. Over the last few weeks I’ve been experiencing extreme dry skin, so I decided to experiment with some at home treatments. I felt it was crucial for me to share these amazing at home masks because they really work! Take some much need precautions and start hydrating your skin now!

Banana and Honey Mask

Ingredients

  1. 1 teaspoon raw unfiltered honey
  2. ½ ripe banana
  3. 1 tablespoon baking soda

This mask is great if you want to hydrate and lightly exfoliate at the same time. Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl. Apply an even amount all over face. Leave on for 10 mins. It felt a little goopy at first but it dries fairly fast. Rinse with warm water. For added exfoliation rub mask in as you rinse off! Baking soda helps to exfoliate while the honey helps to pull in moisture and grabs on to dead skin. The banana adds vitamins that help to hydrate and moisturize the skin!

Rose Water and Honey Mask

Ingredients

  1. 2 tablespoons of rose water
  2. 2 tablespoons of raw unfiltered honey
  3. ½ ripe banana

This mask is so simple I plan to do this regularly. Mash the banana in a small bowl, mix in rose water and water. Apply to skin and leave on for 5-10 mins. Rinse with warm water and wash your face with your regular cleanser! This mask is perfect for moisturizing and toning red skin. Let’s talk about rose water for a moment- Rose water has so many amazing skin benefits. It has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce redness of irritated skin. It also helps to remove dirt and oil from clogged pores.
