There’s no doubt that eyelash extensions dramatically improve your vacation. If you are considering getting eyelash extensions before your vacation, here are some things you need to know:
Bring an oil-free sunscreen. Protecting our skin is always on our minds while on vacation, and you shouldn’t have to worry about how it will affect your lashes. Try to avoid using any spray on protection as they tend to have oil, and it’s harder to control where that oil lands on your face. We recommend an oil free product like Glo Sensitive Solar Shade SPF 50 or Sanitas Solar Block SPF 20. If you prefer a tinted moisturizer, we also like Glo Minerals Moisturizing Tint SPF 30. With these products you can carefully apply around your eye area.
Cleanse your lashes. There is a common misconception that salt water will damage the bond between adhesive and extension, but it’s not so much the salt water as it is a build up of sweat and natural oils along the base of the lashes. Just as you would at home, you should wash your face and remove makeup daily. It’s important to remove any makeup, dirt, dust and debris from your lash line to prevent any irritation and premature extension shedding. For best results we recommend using Xtreme Lashes Eye Makeup Remover and Facial Cleanser, daily and after any activity. If you are visiting the beach, it’s best to immediately cleanse your lashes following outdoor activities to ensure the best longevity.
