One of the latest trends in skincare are the infamous sheet masks! After I tried my first one I was completely OBSESSED! Sheet masks originated in Asia and have recently made their debut in the US. What is a sheet mask you might ask? Well it’s simple– A sheet mask is a paper or cloth mask soaked in liquid formulas to treat skin with holes cut out for the eyes, nose and mouth. You might have seen these masks all over IG or on your favorite celebrities, and they’re so easy and fun to use! I even convinced my husband to try one of these masks with me, and he totally loved them! They refine, refresh, and brighten skin perfectly. And the bonus to these masks is that they are so clean! Unlike other masks the application and clean up was quick, easy, and didn’t leave a puddle on my bathroom counter from messy rinsing! It really allowed me to relax before, during, and after!
The mask is made of paper, fabric or hydrogel and is infused with intensive serums that absorb into your skin. They are perfect for when your skin is in desperate need of a little extra moisture. Sheet masks are ideal for traveling because you do not have to rinse afterwards– simply work the remaining product into your face and neck. Need another reason to love sheet masks? Well here you go– you don’t have to spend a lot of money to add this treatment into your beauty regiment! I’ve come across masks ranging from $2.99-$70.00. I have not had the luxury of trying any of the higher end masks yet, but I’ve read some amazing reviews.
One important thing to remember is that sheet masks do not replace your regular facial products. Cleansing your face prior to using a sheet masks is an important step you don’t want to skip. It’s also important to continue using your everyday serums, moisturizers, and spot treatments when needed. Think of these masks as more of an added bonus to your weekly skincare routine. Stay tuned for a DIY Sheet Masks post! XOXO
