New Year, New Brows!

2016 has been filled with some of our favorite beauty trends, and a few we probably wont try again.. But as we begin a new year, Microblading isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. I mean who wouldn’t want to wake up with fierce brows every morning? Here’s what you need to know!

Unlike traditional tattoos, Microblading doesn’t use a tattoo machine, so ink won’t deposit as deeply below the epidermis. Because the color is deposited closer to the surface of the skin, the hair strokes appear crisp and very fine. There is no “spilling” under the skin and the effects last up to 18 months, after which the pigment fades leaving the skin. If your skin is on the dry side, results may last longer whereas oilier complexions may need touch-ups after a few months.

Thanks to a fine microblade, your brow specialist is able to manually create feather-like strokes that mimic natural hair. Microblading is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of his or her eyebrows. The results are natural looking, hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present. It’s a great way to fill in unwanted gaps and scars without using products.

While tattoos require a certain pain threshold, most Microblading clients find the treatment pretty tolerable. We use a strong topical anesthetic cream with 5% Lidocain before and throughout the procedure for maximum comfort, as pain tolerance will vary from person to person. The Microblading procedure takes about 2 hours, including your consultation.

Big plans for the weekend? No problem! Your brows will be on fleek even immediately after your Microblading procedure. Some clients may experience temporary redness, and if you’re sensitive, there may be minimal swelling.

Of course, Microblading will reduce the amount of time you spend on your brows, but if you want a more dramatic look, you can always pump up the volume with your favorite brow products!
