It is no secret that water does amazing things for our bodies. Our bodies are composed of about 60% water. If we are dehydrated, which most of us are at some point in our busy day, we are effecting the majority of our body. What some of you might not know is that staying hydrated isn’t just beneficial to our health but also an essential beauty product.
Clear Skin
Water hydrates the skin from the inside out. Our skin is the largest organ in our body, and it’s important to keep it hydrated and healthy. Drinking water keeps your skin cleansed, encouraging clear, fresh skin. Water can flush out the toxins in your skin eliminating clogged pores. It replenishes the skin’s tissues and helps maintain elasticity. Water can be a perfect replacement for some of those expensive anti-aging treatments. Drinking a good amount of water can be more important than using facial creams and serums. Staying hydrated has the power give your complexion the glow you’ve been wanting!
Hair Growth
Drinking 8 cups of water a day is said to promote faster hair growth. When you drink less water, the roots of your hair don’t receive enough water for proper hair growth. Water has even been known to help cure dandruff and thinning hair. It aids in providing the necessary nutrients to the cells and ensures that the cells get all the necessary hair vitamins. Drink plenty of water to make your hair naturally soft and silky without a million different products.
Natural Weight Loss
You may not believe it, but drinking water can even help you to lose weight. Often times when you feel hungry, you are actually thirsty, and when you drink water you will feel fuller! Replace your favorite fizzy, caffeinated drink with a tall glass of ice water! Cutting out sugary drinks is the best thing you can do for your body and will help with weight loss. When there is a loss of water, the kidney cannot function at its best making the liver work harder. The liver helps to burn off the fat into energy but when it has to do the extra work of the kidney, it cannot burn as much fat into energy as it should, resulting in fat deposit. Drink water in good quantity to prevent fat deposit and to keep yourself healthy. One way i like to ensure I’m drinking enough water is by making infused waters to drink throughout the day. As a recovering soda addict these waters have helped me stick to drinking at least 8 cups of water a day. My favorite is lemon, lime, mint and cucumber which aids in the burning of fat cells.
